5 Minutes of camp

LI: To recount a 5 minute snapshot of one experience you had at camp

Putting my foot on the first rung of the ladder my heart started beating faster and my mind was playing tricks on me thinking that I was already up on the highest point.  My legs were shaking, then I heard my group supporting me so I took a deep breath and climbed the height of the ladder feeling scared I was going to fall and I had so far to climb ahead of me.

As I climbed the staples I started shaking again, I looked up and down as I put my right foot on the staple and my left hand on the other I pushed myself.  when I got to the beam I hugged the pole I Looked down as it was very high I told the instructor I wanted to get down. She told me to take three steps out. I was shaking and my heart was beating.

I felt like crying I was flustered I pushed of the pole and took two steps out the instructor said a couple more as I took one more I told the instructor let me down katlyn told me to turn to her I turned with fear she told me to crouch I i slowly crouched kaitlyn said to straighten my legs and slowly lean back pushing myself off the beam. I was relieved as my feet hit the ground. I was proud of myself for even going to the top. Everybody was cheering for me as I got down.

Last week we went to camp at Kokako Lodge. My 5 minute snapshot shows my personal voice and I have tried hard to paint a picture with my words to describe what I was doing and how I felt.

I found this activity was fun because I was able to reflect on what I did at camp.
